After conquering music world, MI Abaga goes into restaurant business (Video)

MI Abaga, multi-award winning rapper and president of Chocolate City, has announced the launch of a restaurant cum lounge.
The restaurant, named CCX Lagos, is the rapper’s first stab at investing in the hospitality sector.
Abaga, self-acclaimed king of Nigerian hip hop, unveiled the new restaurant via his Twitter page on Thursday.
He wrote: “Introducing your new home, CCX Lagos. We are a restaurant and lounge at 273 Kofo Abayomi and we are waiting with open arms for you to come visit us. Can’t wait to see you.”
The rapper also shared a video showing a commercial for the restaurant cum lounge. Members of the Chocolate City record label, including Abaga, were also featured in the advert.
A few months ago, Abaga’s Chocolate City entered into a partnership with Warner Music Group.
By virtue of the deal, Warner Music is expected to pump funds into Chocolate City’s operations and also use its global platform to promote artists on the Nigerian label’s roster.
At the time when the deal was sealed, Abaga revealed that it took 18 months of back and forth correspondence before it came to fruition.
Apart from Abaga, Chocolate City’s leadership includes Audu Maikori, Paul Okeugo and Aibee Abidoye.
The record label is home to artists such as Blaqbonez, AQ, Loose Kaynon, DJ Lambo, Ruby Gyang, Dice Ailes, Nosa, and C Kay.
